Living in Dormitory is Beneficial

Thesis statement : I personally believe that living on campus have more benefit for students during college in terms of good studying environment.

Argument 1 : First argument is from Laura Randall, writing articles about college, teaching, and education” is Colleague Bonding everyone knows that the intense social experience is a key aspect of a residential education.

Argument 2 : Second argument it is from Tom Ford “The most important things in life are the connections you make with others” to make social connections that will be beneficial throughout their life.

Argument 3 : Third argument is Finding a study partner is pretty easy. You’re in a building where you have other students, your very own course mates included.

Counter-Argument : When in dormitory is so expensive for just 2 beds, 2 cupboard and 2 desk on one room, the room also so small, we also need to share the toilets with other people.

Rebuttal :But it is also worth because in dormitory is provide the security for the safety-ness, and the CCTV is provided also and not only cleaning service included for the facility.

Conclusion : living in a dorm is a social experience like no other social experience you will have. When you live in a dorm your freshman year of college, you will meet people you would otherwise have never met, and you will spend time with people in a way that would be very difficult in other circumstances.

Many universities require incoming freshman students to live in official university dormitories. In this way college life is taken seriously and each new student is surrounded by peers for support in studies and creating productive routines. There are widely differing views on the issue of whether students should live on campus or not. And also some university provide dormitory near their university and some of them not. Some people would suggest that it is more healthier to live off campus. However, i personally believe that living on campus have more benefit for students during college in terms of good studying environment.

First argument is from Laura Randall, writing articles about college, teaching, and education” is Colleague Bonding everyone knows that the intense social experience is a key aspect of a residential education.  Who does not remember our college roommates? As work become more collaborative we need to find ways to replicate the social bonding of freshman year. Nothing incentivizes closer working relations than sharing a triple with our colleagues. Students will meet many new people who may be taking similar classes and other students who have the same interests. These are all important social connections to make as a young adult. The friends a person makes in college will often be friends for life, which is something that can be hard to find.

Second argument it is from Tom Ford “The most important things in life are the connections you make with others” to make social connections that will be beneficial throughout their life. Students who live in college dormitories during their first year I believe are more socially prepared for life. One reason for this is that students learn what it is like to live away from home and their parents. They begin to learn self responsibility as well as fiscal responsibility.

Third argument is Finding a study partner is pretty easy. You’re in a building where you have other students, your very own course mates included. So not only do you have just potential friends, you do have study partners quite easily which is really helpful. Never underestimate the power of teamwork. As Emanuel Plove said “Two are better than one. When two people work together, they get more work done.” Learning together is very essential and the issue of struggling with homework or a concept you found hard to understand in class will not be a problem. There’ll always be someone to help out.

When in dormitory is so expensive for just 2 beds, 2 cupboard and 2 desk on one room, the room also so small, we also need to share the toilets with other people. But it is also worth because in dormitory is provide the security for the safety-ness, and the CCTV is provided also and not only cleaning service included for the facility.

Conclusion is living in a dorm is a social experience like no other social experience you will have. When you live in a dorm your freshman year of college, you will meet people you would otherwise have never met, and you will spend time with people in a way that would be very difficult in other circumstances. Very often you will make friends that you may have for the rest of your life, which just is not really possible in any other situation. People who opt not to stay in a dormitory when they go to college are missing out on a huge opportunity. Living in a dorm means being a part of a whole group of friends in a way that is unlike anything you have seen before.

The second and third argument is same.

  2. I have a suggestion if you don’t mind.
This paragraph “When in ((dormitory)) is so expensive for just 2 beds, ((2 cupboard and 2 desk)) ((on one room)), the room also so small, we also need to share the toilets with other people. But it is also worth because in ((dormitory)) is provide the security for the safety-ness, and the CCTV is provided also and not only cleaning service included for the facility.”
    – dormitory — change to ‘the dormitory’
    – 2 cupboard — change to ‘2 cupboards’
    – 2 desk — change to ‘2 desks’
    – on one room — change to ‘in one room’ because those things is ‘in’ the room right? not ‘on’ the room.

  3. Hi windy! what a wonderful post you have here. but I have some suggestion for you
in par 1 In this way college life . put a commas after in this way, college life….
in par 2 ‘i personally believe’ use capital I
As work become more collaborative we need to find ways to replicate put a commas after collaborative.
Students who live in college dormitories during their first year I believe are more socially prepared for life –> i believe that students who……
Finding a study. do not capitalize the finding because it is not the first word of the sentence.
But it is also worth because in dormitory is provide the security for the safety-ness, and the CCTV is provided also and not only cleaning service included for the facility –> but it is worth, because we get both of cleaning services, security and CCTV as the facilities’
People who opt not to stay in a dormitory –> people who choose not to stay…..
but its a great post anyway!

  4. Hi Windy!!
    Nice post here.. YEAH!!
By the way, I found some grammatical error:
    a. As work become more collaborative we need to find ways to replicate the social bonding of freshman year. (As work becomes more collaborative we need to find ways to replicate the social bonding of freshman year.)
    b. Students who live in college dormitories during their first year I believe are more socially prepared for life. (will be better if: Students who live in dormitory during their first year will be more socially prepared)
c So not only do you have just potential friends, you do have study partners quite easily which is really helpful. (So, you have a potential to find a partner to study together)
    and etc.

by the way, I’m still learning too. Tell me if you have another opinion. 🙂

  5. Hi Windy win! Such a great post you have made above!
I also agree that students should live in dormitory especially at their first year.
I notice some grammatical error in the last paragraph. Pardon me if I tell you so.
“Conclusion is living in a dorm is a social experience like no other social experience you will have. When you live in a dorm your freshman year of college, you will meet people you would otherwise have never met, and you will spend time with people in a way that would be very difficult in other circumstances. In my opinion, these sentences should be:
“The conclusion is living in a dormitory is a social experience like no other social experience you will have. When you live in a dorm on your freshman year, you will meet people you would otherwise have never met, and you will spend time with people in a way that would be very difficult in other circumstances. Very often you will make friends that you may have for the rest of your life, which is not really possible in any other situation. People who choose not to stay in a dormitory when they go to college are missing out on this huge opportunity.”
That’s all from me, overall your writing was amazing.
Can’t wait to see your next extraordinary post, Windy!

  6. Hi windy!
You have a great post in here. Basically, most of the mistake already been states by our friends. I might add some suggestion that might be could be considered by you:
    1. “Many universities require incoming freshman students to live in official university dormitories”|might be better “Many universities require the freshman to live in the dormitory”
    2. “The friends a person makes in college will often be friends for life” | “The friends, that a person makes in college will often being friends for life”
I think that’s al. Keep up with the good job. Looking forward for your next post!
